Here are some of my top resources for you to tap into as an entrepreneur or student of personal development:
IgnitedLeadership.com is run by my good friend Jason Connell, a high sought after speaker and leadership trainer who spent his early twenties traveling the world and helping less fortunate individuals, and his mid twenties building a successful business. With lots of real world experience as a leader, Jason has an overflowing amount of insight to share on life & leadership.
Addicted2Success.com is the website that inspired me to create Attitudes 4 Innovation. In just 2 and a half years, Joel Brown managed to hit over a million+ page views per month. Now, at age 4, Addicted2Success sees nearly 4 million page views per month and continues to share inspiring and useful stories/information.
Steve Pavlina has created 1,000+ blogs in his career and they each have an interesting twist on them. As one of the world’s premier personal growth bloggers, Steve has helped millions accelerate their own growth.
MrSelfDevelopment.com is not updated as frequently as some of the other blogs we see, but it makes up for its lack of quantity with quality. I have no idea the name of the owner or the writer. He simply goes by the name “Mr. Self Development”. That is beside the point. Many of his articles are featured here on Attitudes 4 Innovation. And there is a reason for that…they are all GREAT!
I don’t listen to a whole lot of podcasts, but the John Lee Dumas has created a winner with Entrepreneur On Fire. You’ll notice quite a few elements on this website were modeled after Entrepreneur On Fire. Keep it up, John!
Smart Passive Income is a fantastic show with one of the most genuine young guys you’ll find online. Pat Flynn interviews some of the smartest entrepreneurs on the internet on what they are doing to earn passive income today. He also was one of the first to display his income live on his website, so all his listeners could see how much he was making.
Startup is a unique podcast that features some interesting stories happening in the startup world. Although I have only listened to a few episodes myself, I have heard enough to see that it provides an extreme amount of value to a lot of people.
Hosted by Michael Stelzner of Social Media Examiner, this weekly podcast dives deep into what’s working RIGHT NOW in the world social media, and how you can use it to grow your business.
The #AskGaryVee Show is one the most entertaining yet educational shows on all of YouTube. Not only does the host, Gary Vaynerchuk, have an amazing sense of whit, but he is also one one of the most intelligent entrepreneurs and marketers online. His predictions from 5-6 years are beginning to ring true, and more an more people jump on the Gary Vee bandwagon each day. I’m proud to call myself a Gary Vee supporter since 2008! The #AskGaryVee show is also available as podcast in the iTunes tore.
Dave Ramsey’s southern style has stolen the heart’s of millions. He is truly one of America’s wisest financial minds and his “I don’t give a &*$#” attitude is truly entertaining. I have learned a lot by watching his short 5-8 minute clips on YouTube. His show is probably more well-known as a podcast in the iTunes store.
BlueHost.com has affordable web hosting and allows you to get started on your first website for just a few bucks. I recommend using this service, and if for some reason you do not like BlueHost, a close second is HostGator.com
WordPress is probably the coolest thing on the internet. I have said that many times. I truly believe that the creation of WordPress has created more internet success than any other tool.
WordPress is the blogging software that allows you to run and host your own website/blog for FREE. You can pretty much install WordPress for any of your domains via every hosting platform (we recommend BlueHost), and it is very easy to use. Check out our tutorial on how to start your own website to learn how to install WordPress.
This is one of my favorite WordPress themes. It allows you to create amazing pages with ease. If you are looking to get involved in the internet marketing space in any way, I recommend checking out this resource.
Weebly is a fantastic resource for those of you looking to start a website for $0. Weebly allows you to launch your own website on their servers without paying anything. It’s not as nice as having your own domain, but you sure can’t beat the cost!
This is a place where you can get free & paid WordPress themes. With thousands of high quality themes available, it’s a fantastic place to find a great looking theme and make your site looks beautiful (with zero design skills). I purchased the them for Attitudes 4 Innovation on this website for $50.
Another resource for getting quality themes at a good price. Elegant Themes has a package offer where they allow you to purchase 80+ themes for less than $1 each.
If you are looking for a simpler theme for your website or blog, one that lacks clutter, this is a good WordPress theme to look into.
Here is a where you will find an excellent selection of magazine-styled themes. I absolutely love the look and feel of this theme. If I were to start Attitudes 4 Innovation all over again, this style is one that I would strongly consider for my WordPress site.
Social media marketing resources
This is my personal social media marketing blog. It is updated twice per month on some of the hot new insights and strategies regarding social media. The reason it is only updated every 2 weeks (every other Tuesday), is because I would rather provide you with the most important nuggets of information on social media, rather than bombard you daily with information that doesn’t necessarily matter.
I’ve found every 2 weeks is enough to provide you with the information you need to stay on top of your social media game. Check it out here.
Looking for a proven system for attracting more traffic and customers using Twitter? You’ve found it! Twitter has become the go-to-place for finding experts and staying up to date with useful information. The system I lay out in this eBook walks you though how you can quickly take advantage of the easy to use technology available, combined with a little hard work and authenticity, to position yourself as an expert on Twitter.
There is no better way to grow a large audience and take advantage of the hoards of traffic Twitter brings in every single day than by using the techniques I lay out in this book. Check it out here.
If you do like to get daily news and insights on social media marketing, this is a great place to find it. With lots of contributors and ideas, Social Media Examiner is a great place to find social media tips in real time.
Another resource that publishes daily news and insights on what’s happening in the social media world.
Social media marketing software
ManageFlitter.com is a fantastic tool for attracting more Twitter followers and scheduling tweets. I recommend checking it out.
Meet Edgar is one of the coolest tools on the planet. As I write this, it is still in BETA, and spots are limited. Essentially, it is a scheduling software that allows you to “load up” your library of tweets & Facebook posts and then create a weekly/daily schedule for sending out tweets and posts. Since many tweets and Facebook posts are only seen by a handful of people, it only makes sense to have them posted over and over again.
As long as your posts are evergreen, and not time sensitive, they can go into your Meet Edgar library. For instance, all the articles here on Attitudes 4 Innovation are “evergreen”, with content that is going to be useful for decades to come. So I have EVERY SINGLE article from this website uploaded into my Edgar library. The software then spits out the article links randomly based on a schedule that I set up in advance. I have a tweet scheduled every hour or so and since we have so many articles in our library, no one really notices or cares that it’s a cycle of the same content.
Of course, each day new content is added to the library, and we have more than just article links in the library. We have quotes, infographics, and a variety of other useful, evergreen content within’ our library.
Pretty cool stuff…check it out at MeetEdgar.com.
This is another scheduling software that allows you to connect your social media platforms and schedule posts in advance. Before investing in Meet Edgar, this is the tool I used and I loved it. They have a free version that is limited to 10 posts per day, but in reality, the free version can be very effective if you use those 10 tweets or posts properly.
(Used to be JustUnfollow) Good for Instagram and Twitter. This is the tool I currently use to do a lot of Twitter marketing for myself and some our clients. It allows you to unfollow and follow users, which is a strategy I go over in my book Taking Flight.
It also allows you to perform a variety of other functions on Twitter that automate and save you time. If you’re interested mastering Twitter for your business, I recommend checking out my book Taking Flight (It’s very inexpensive).
