1. Success is your duty

Succeeding at what you were put on this earth to do is something you owe the world. It is simply unethical and wrong to squander your gifts and talents, and let them go to waste. It is your duty to dedicate your life to the things that you love and make you happy. That’s the best way you can add value.

Havn’t figured out what makes you happy yet? Better start experimenting, or Grant Cardone is coming after you! 😉

2. Make deals a priority

If you are in business, making deals and exchanging value props should be a priority. In most cases, this means selling your product or service for cash. Make these deals a priority in your life and career. This does not mean this is the most important thing, but too many people devalue the idea of selling and getting stuff done in this area of business. It is vital, so make it habit.

3. Work hard

Enough said…

4. Ignore the little man

All the people that tell you that “you can’t” do it, need to be eliminated from your life. You need to surround yourself with people who tell you that you can chase your dream and you can do the crazy things you want to do.

Everything else is just background noise.

5. Don’t be negative

Be positive about everything. Spread positivity and then spread more of it. If you are a positive person, you will not only be happier, but you will also get better results! You will be able to overcome more obstacles because you don’t look at everything from such a negative mindset.

Not only this, but you will be an inspiration to those around you and you will attract more vibrant, positive people into your life.

6. Have a target

Do you have goals that you are set on achieving? If not, why? If you don’t have a target of what you are looking to accomplish, how can you ever expect to hit it?

Set goals for what you are looking to do, and for where you are looking to get. This applies to your personal life and to your career. Think about how much money you want to make over the course of the next month, year, and 5 years. Set your targets and work hard to get there.

7. Don’t depend on one product

In business, it’s never good to put all your eggs in one basket. Ideally, you have multiple products and services that you are selling and constantly developing so that you can consistently roll out new stuff to customers. This way, if one product’s sales start to dwindle, you aren’t completely out of business (I’ve made this mistake before).

Af first, it’s okay to put all your eggs in one basket and can often times be necessary due to the time, energy and resources it takes to get a business off the ground. But once you have your business off the ground, start spreading the resources to different areas and diversify the eggs.

8. Believe in yourself

You have to believe in yourself and you have to believe in your vision. If not, there is really no point in even trying. You will probably quit after you run into your first obstacle.

Instead, choose something that you believe in deeply and you believe you can achieve, strongly. That’s the thing you will succeed at in the end and it’s probably the thing that will make you happiest, which in the end, is the most important variable.

9. Work to your potential

Work to your potential and always be expanding your potential. You should never give it less than you have. Whatever you want in life, it is your duty to give everything you have towards getting it.

It doesn’t have to be material or financial and it doesn’t have to be what everybody claims to want. Choose what YOU would die for and then you’ll be motivated to work your face off and reach your full potential. And then when you find your potential’s end boundaries, maybe you’ll be able to raise that potential 😉

10. Don’t quit

Never quit. If you love it, and you want it bad (like more than anything else in the world) than what’s the point of quitting? Whatever else you go do after you quit is not going to make you as happy. So you may as well stick with your thing because that’s where your happiness lies and that is where you are most likely to see dreams come true.

Of course, if what you are doing doesn’t make you happy, and you find out that the end goal you originally set is not really something you want that bad…then by golly, QUIT IMMEDIATELY. Go find YOUR THING.

I believe you came into my life for a reason today. I’ve roughed myself up a bit mentally and emotionally. It’s been a tough Saturday. I’m glad I happened upon your Periscope which led me to your twitter which led me to here. Thank you for asking me to stay connected. I took it in more ways than one because I needed to. This blog was the best thing I could read tonight. I know it’s meant to be looked at from a work perspective but it also works for life in general. Thanks again, Alex Hamm.

Great summary Big Al. One big take away was to ignore the little man. I remember in a webinar Grant said – paraphrasing – ” sometimes you spend the most time with people that bring you down, that say you cant do it, not good enough, etc.. and that person is yourself. So stop spending so much time with yourself and get around big thinkers.
