Hey bruh, why ain’t I got any money?
1. You have convinced yourself that money is not important
People unfortunately buy into the lie that money is not important. This is normally to justify their lack of financial resources. If you don’t think lots of money is important, then you simply will not have lots of money. Would you have a parrot if you thought parrots weren’t important? Probably not. You manifest things in your life that are high on your priority list.
If having a house or apartment is high on your priority list, then you will probably live in a house or an apartment. If survival is high on your priority list, then you will do what it takes to survive, but you will not thrive. You won’t thrive because thriving is not very important to you. We all have order and success around the things in our life that are most important to us. If something is missing in your life, it’s because you have not yet placed great importance on it.
You should make money one of the items you place importance on, and here’s why: Money determines the food you eat, the clothes you wear, the car you drive, the house you live in, the education you have, the medical attention your family receives, the good you can do for others, and the lifestyle of your children.
Somebody once told me, “yeah…but…money won’t make you happy.” I said, “Yeah, and your feet don’t talk, that doesn’t mean there not important.” You see, money serves a different purpose; money is a resource that allows you to do, be and have whatever you really want in life.
2. You don’t believe you are worthy of being rich
Millions of people struggle financially, everyday, because they don’t believe they are worthy of being rich. They have bought into an ideal that wealth and riches are for ‘other’ people. These ideals come from well-meaning parents, good religions, and the media. I have personally struggled with these ideals in the past, but not anymore. I now operate from a consciousness that says, “if you can do it, I can do it”, and I can do it better, faster and stronger.
I’m not being arrogant, but I am recognizing that there are no important people and unimportant people. We are all equally important; we all deserve to have all of the things we really want in our life. If not you, then who? Why are others better than you? They’re not. We are all equally important and equally great. Shake-off all limiting beliefs about yourself; you are truly worthy of success and wealth, so act like it!
3. You don’t know what you want
It’s extremely difficult to receive something when you don’t know what you want to receive! Right?! You must be decisive on your ideal lifestyle. Maybe it’s working from home, maybe it’s taking international vacations six times a year, but you must get clear as to what you want!
4. You have no plans to create, manage and keep wealth
Once you know the financial goal that you want to achieve, you must come up with a way of realizing your goal. You should commit to follow a budget. You should also come up with a plan to create additional income based on the skills and talents that you have.
5. You don’t know what you are supposed to be doing
I know that I am supposed to be doing what I’m doing right now. Self-development is my passion, learning is my passion, and sharing what I have learned from reading hundreds of books is my passion. I never get tired of learning, of reading, and of listening to audio books, just ask my wife. You must find the thing(s) that you are passionate about, and you must pursue them.
Malcolm S. Forbes said, “The biggest mistake people make in life is not trying to make a living at doing what they most enjoy.” Don’t pursue a business you are not interested in. I was going to purchase several popular women’s fitness centers a few years ago, just because I thought it was a good business venture. Boy am I glad I didn’t, it wouldn’t have been in my best interest. Although I am a huge fitness fan, running a fitness center is just not my passion, and so I would have been out-done by my competitors who happen to love being in the fitness business.
Why? Because when you love something, you can do it all day long, you don’t notice the time, and therefore you become the best. When you are doing what you really love to do, and doing your best at it, you have no rivals. Determine what you love to do! If I look in your library, and all I see are books on real estate, then that’s a sign of your passion, and where you can be successful. If all I see in your library are non-fiction books, that means…that you just want to escape reality…
6. You don’t think like the rich
As with everything in life, success is mental, which means you have to have a certain mindset to achieve success. There is a certain way rich people think, and if you think the way rich people think, then you will become rich by default. In the words of James Allen, “man is mind.” If you then change the mind, you change the man, and you change the man by changing what the man thinks about, and you change what you think about by changing what you consciously give your attention to.
You can’t hang around people talking about how difficult life is and expect to succeed. You can’t succeed by hanging around people who are talking about how the gas prices are re-shaping their lives. You are a creator, think like a creator, and create great and positive things in your life by focusing on the things you want, not the things you don’t want.
Jesus said, “you can have what you say, but most people go around saying what they have.” Raise your consciousness, see yourself rich, and think the way rich people think. If you don’t know how rich people think, you can purchase autobiographies of wealthy people to get a glimpse of their mindset.
7. You don’t act like the rich
Change the way you act! The rich act now, because tomorrow never comes! When you get into what you’re calling your future, you will rename it the present. The present is all you have, so you must act now. Write down the steps that will take you closer to your goal. Then get into action immediately and daily. If you do this with passion and faith, you will soon begin to realize the success you know you deserve.
Granted, this will take a lot of work. Contrary to what some think, the rich work hard. Maybe not forever, but in launching their career or company, an incredible amount of work is involved (this is why most people aren’t rich). You will probably become consumed in providing your service or product (at least for a while). This is normally not a problem, because when you’re passionate about your purpose, you can put in 80-100 hours of work (a week) and feel good about it…..Now you know how to become rich.
