1. What’s money? A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and goes to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do.

Success is too many times tied the the amount of money in your bank account. Men especially have a very competitive mindset and the man that seems to make more money always appears to be more successful.

But happiness does come into play at all here. Bob reminds us that you are a success if you have crafted a life that allows you to do what YOU want during the day and live life on your own terms. Millions of dollars often times can’t buy that.

2. Take care of all your memories. For you cannot relive them.

Your memories are the most precious thing you have. Hold them close because what has happened, happened, and you will never have that exact same experience again. Cherish it, and try to remember the good things from each memory and refrain from dwelling on the past.

3. All I can do is be me, whoever that is.

Everyone is different. Everyone was put on this earth to be a certain type of person. It’s your job to explore yourself and discover who that person is. Once you do figure it out, all you can do in life is live as that person to the best of your ability.

Don’t go out of your way attempting to be someone your not comfortable being, just because others pressure you down that road. In the end, no one will win in that scenario.

4. People seldom do what they believe in. They do what is convenient, then repent.

This is a truth we are all guilty of, but need to step back and think about. Convenience should be the word of the century. As technology advances and innovations continue to make improvements in our lives, things are getting easier and easier. Steve Jobs and Thomas Edison have made our lives incredibly convenient. In most cases, this is a wonderful thing.

However, we need to take into account that just because things are more convenient, does not mean that the convenient route is always the best way to go. Sometimes we need to challenge ourselves some in order to go after something we believe in and leave the convenient option in the dust.

Don’t marry someone just because it was convenient for you. Challenge yourself the win over the person you’d truly love to marry.

Don’t take a job just because it fell into your lap. Take a risk and go for the job you are truly passionate about, even if you have to go out on a limb to land that position.

It’s certainly something to think about…

5. Being noticed can be a burden. Jesus got himself crucified because he got himself noticed.

I have always had a dream of being famous. I know I’m not alone. Fame is something that looks like an incredible thing from the outside. After all, it’s the famous rockstars and movie stars that get laid the easiest and make the big bucks. Why wouldn’t anyone want this life?

Mr. Dylan suggests that being noticed too much can often times be the end of someone. The creator of world famous iPhone game Flappy Bird said “The fame I got from this game ruined my life”. Depending on the type of person you are, fame and recognition may not be for you. It’s certainly a burden that you have to deal with and it takes away from the freedom of being alone.

Enjoy the silence…
