Confidence is one quality we all need to be very successful in our daily lives. Some see confident people and wish they were as confident, but you cannot become confident by wishing. You must make deliberate attempts to become a confident person.
While growing up I used to be very scared of facing people to talk. I had great difficulties maintaining eye contact with people while we spoke. It always felt like a difficult thing to do and I would always avoid any occasion to face.
I spoke with a mentor and read some books, and they were very helpful. Even though I still have that shivering feeling inside me when I want to face a crowd and speak, I have learnt how to calm myself and maintain composure.

1. Do the things you fear
This is one certain and quick way to build confidence in yourself. Fear is one great killer of self-confidence, and it reduces many people to nothing.
You cannot allow yourself to be limited by your fears, rather you should conquer your fears with action. Constantly push yourself to do those things which you fear and in a short while you will not feel that fear anymore.
2. Positive Self-talk
There is always a still, small voice speaking to you, and research has shown that most times we hear negative things. The negative voice inside us tends to be louder than the positive voice.
Those who have built strong confidence in themselves have been able to put that negative voice under control. Don’t talk yourself down and don’t give others the chance to, and instead say positive words to yourself always. Always tell yourself you are capable of conquering whatever you fear.
3. Hang out with confident people
When you are constantly in the company of very confident people, your self-confidence starts to rise. We all know how much influence our peers have on our decisions and behaviors.
Look for people who are very confident and make friends with them, watch them closely to see how to do it…then copy them. Try to move away from shy people and those with a low self-worth.
4. Act confident till it becomes a part of you
Another good way to build self-confidence fast is to act as if you already are very confident…and soon you will be. You know how habits are formed? They are formed when we repeat certain behaviors over and over. When you are constantly acting like a confident person, it soon becomes a natural part of you. Act it till you become it.
